Galgotias University Hosts 10th Convocation Ceremony; Leaders Highlight Resilience, Discipline, and Lifelong Learning

Galgotias University has successfully organised the 10th Convocation Ceremony, gathering together dignitaries, guests of honour, faculty, parents and graduating students to celebrate academic achievement and commencement.

The chief guest for the ceremony was Dr. A. S. Kiran Kumar, Padma Shri awardee and former Chairman of ISRO, with dignitaries Umashankar Pandey a Padma Shri awardee and well-known social activist, Dr. R. G. Agarwal, Chairman Emeritus of Dhanuka Agritech Limited as well as special guests Nagendra Goyal, Joint Commissioner at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Government of India, and Vinit Goenka attending.

 

The convocation was significant as it was attended by 6,656 graduating students across the various disciplines within Galgotias University. There were a total of 73 Ph.D scholars, 3,953 undergraduates, 2,250 postgraduates, 199 diploma recipients and 181 integrated Programme students awarded during the ceremony demonstrating the breadth of academics at Galgotias University.

 

Dr. Kiran Kumar speaking to the graduating students that continuous learning has become increasingly more important as technology continues to advance so quickly and he encouraged them to be continually curious and adaptable so they will be ready for whatever comes their way in the future and to think of their graduation not as an end to their formal education, but the beginning of a lifetime of continuing education. He also expressed that they should always be aware of their uses of smartphones and the impact that technology has on their lives and be in control of their digital behavior.

 

The Chancellor congratulated graduates and spoke on the school’s path to excellence & recognition worldwide. He encouraged students who have faced challenges & reminded them that challenges can build their resiliency & strength as individuals. He drew a comparison between trees that have survived storms & hurricanes & how their perseverance gives them strength through adversity to be successful in the future.

 

Dr. R. G. Agarwal stressed discipline is essential for achieving future success, adding you must have consistency, structure of thought & ability to self-regulate yourself in order to grow professionally as well as develop yourself personally.

 

Uma Shankar Pandey sent a strong message to save water by sharing the irony of our society not recognizing the amount of water it uses while there is a vast marketplace for selling water, and challenged youth to do their part in creating a more sustainable future by using renewable sources of water.

 

The university shared with attendees how strong the school’s placement was this past academic year through collaboration from multiple companies within the technology and business fields. Companies such as; Infosys, Cognizant Technologies, Accenture, Ernst & Young (EY), Capgemini, and the university has a hiring network consisting of over 1,200 companies.

 

Reiterating its commitment for excellence in academic performance, innovation, and holistic development, Galgotias University emphasized to the graduates, that no matter what, they will always be a part of Galgotias University’s ever-expanding worldwide community.
